Q I want to fit my 200 series into a sliding patio door. Is
this possible?
A Yes. The entire 200 series has been specifically designed
with an extremely thin external frame. This external frame can slide between
two panes of glass on most patio doors. The 270, with a clear finish offers
a discreet look and the 280, with its white frame, will match the style of
many uPVC and double-glazed windows and doors.
Q
The 280 is for a 'big' cat. Will the 270 be too small?
A The 200 series are all the same size and are classed as
medium in their size. They will cater for large cats up to 10kg (22lb) and
dogs up to 18kg (40lbs). They require a circular cut out of 260mm (10.25").
Q
This model requires a circular cut-out, can it be fitted through a wall?
A Yes. The 200 series is universal fitting. All pet doors
can be fitted in any door, wall or partition up to any thickness - but they
may require additional materials and competent DIY skills.
Q
Can tunnels be bought for the 200 series?
A Some older models may not include the small tunnel
extrusion kit that we now manufacture for the 200 series. This is
approximately 40mm (1.5") in depth and can be cut to match the depth of
wooden doors, uPVC panels and double-glazed units. If you have an older
unit, please contact our Consumer Service team who will be happy to send one
to you free of charge.
Q
Which side of the cat flap goes on the inside of the house?
A The frame with the red locks goes on the inside of the
house.
Q
But does this mean there is no covering on the outside?
A As with many of our models, the flap is situated on the
inside of the house. If your wooden door, uPVC panel or double-glazed unit
is 'exposed' you can use the optional tunnel extrusion kit that we provide.
Some older models do not have this kit included and these can be obtained,
free of charge, by contacting our Consumer Service team.
Q
The door keeps opening in the breeze.
A Ensure that the flap 'keep' is in position at the bottom
of the flap and the frame magnet is situated in the fixed frame (on the
inside of the house) below this.
